Most parents would be proud if their toddlers learn to read at an early age. Although reading at an early age is not a requirement, it is somehow something that makes any mother feel proud and enables the children to prepare well for school.

1.) READ TO THEM
-Babies learn actively and effectively through listening. If they are hearing you reading stories to them, they will start to develop the ability to comprehend letters in order to make sounds then words, then sentence until they can fully understand a whole paragraph. Also, reading to your kids is a special form of mother-kid binding.
2.) ASK QUESTIONS
-When you asked them questions, that is when you are encouraging them to understand and comprehend what is happening to the story you are reading to him or her. keep in mind that these kids can already decode words and messages.
3.) IDENTIFY LETTERS IN NATURAL SETTING
-Try to explain to him the letters surrounding him. Introduce him to the sounds around him. This will greatly help him identify which letter is which at an early age. He will begin asking for them and all you need is to patiently explain to him the letters that he can see.
4.) CLASSIFY THE GENRE
-Introduce him to the idea that there are different genres of stories. Let your child classify them as soon as you read a story to him. This will enhance his knowledge in understanding the different kinds of stories there are in our literature.
